The gala performance will continue the series of ballet evenings at the Zaryadye Hall, dedicated to the great impresario Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev, whose name is associated with the most brilliant pages of 20th‑century world ballet.
The creative union of Sergei Diaghilev and Anna Pavlova, the dramatic conflicts in the relationship between these two of the most outstanding masters of the stage, and the breakup of their collaboration — all this will form the material for the stage action.
Who among the audience didn’t freeze at the sound of Saint‑Saëns’s music for «The Swan»? Who didn’t marvel at the brilliant duets from «Chopiniana,» «The Pharaoh’s Daughter,» and «Don Quixote»? And yet, all of this is the golden collection of Anna Pavlova, which the audience loves so much.
The pieces from the «Russian Seasons,» which have long become world ballet classics, as well as specially prepared homages to the creative work of the two geniuses, will be performed by the stars of Russian ballet — prima ballerinas and premieres of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Moscow Academic Musical Theatre named after K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich‑Danchenko, and other theatres.
The evening will be hosted by the magnificent and beloved Sati Spivakova and the virtuoso improviser Sergei Epishev.
