On October 26, 2023, the Moscow Art Theatre celebrated its 125th anniversary. The premiere of Denis Azarov’s play «Row 9. Seats 10 and 11» based on a play by Yulia Pospelova, written specifically for the anniversary, was timed to coincide with this date. The action takes place in the Art Theatre in different years — from its early years to the present day. Among the characters are the founders, actors, and staff of the Moscow Art Theatre. But this isn’t an excursion into history; it’s a love story, a melodrama whose main characters are the audience members who come to see *Three Sisters* year after year and end up sitting in the 9th row of the stalls.
