OMA is a contemporary steakhouse by Mikhail Gokhner (El Gaucho) on Bolshoy Patriarchy Lane.
The interior evokes the Basque gastronomic clubs known as txoko. The space is divided into two rooms with distinct moods: one is more intimate and suitable for social dining, while the other features a coffered wooden ceiling, understated luxury, and an art collection. The center of the visual concept is the open kitchen, adjacent to the dry-aging chambers.
The menu emphasizes meat and fire. The theme of the Basque school and Atlantic gastronomic traditions—from northern Spain to Latin America—is explored here. The kitchen uses an open fire, and the approach is based on respect for the pure taste of the product and a minimum of unnecessary accents.
