The premiere took place on March 27, 2026.
In the author’s version directed by Alexander Lazarev, based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s play «The Visit of the Old Lady,» the main roles will be performed by stage masters — People’s Artists of Russia Olga Bogdanova, Alexander Domogarov, Maxim Averin, and Honored Artists of Russia Nikolai Kozak and Sergey Kolesnikov. More than 40 members of the troupe are involved in the production, as well as students from the Children’s Studio of Theatrical Creativity of the Army Theatre.
«This is not a novella, not a short story, but a parable. To some extent, it’s a continuation of the theme we started in ‘The Novel’ — about choice, about repentance and forgiveness or non‑forgiveness. In the new production, we’ll touch upon these global themes once again. The ending is open, and I’ve allowed myself to add one remark — you’ll find out what it is at the premiere,» says Alexander Lazarev, chief director of the Army Theatre and People’s Artist of Russia.
