Semyon Chuikov is a legendary Soviet painter, winner of numerous state prizes and awards, and the founder of modern Kyrgyz fine art. The artist lived in Moscow for the last years of his life, but he carried his love for Kyrgyzstan, his small homeland, through his whole life.
The people, nature, proud severity and simple, laconic beauty of his native land became for him the main source of inspiration and fascinating poetry, without which real art is unthinkable.
At the exhibition «Legacy of the epoch. Semyon Chuikov» presents works covering different periods of the artist’s life and work. Among them are «Daughter of Soviet Kyrgyzstan», «View of the valley from the mountains», «Rome. Trastevere Square», «Living Water», «Boy with a fish», «Shepherd’s Daughter», «Morning», «On the way», «Touching Eternity», sketch of the painting «Toktogul among the people» and many others.
The exhibition is held jointly with the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.
